Camping in Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park has five campgrounds. Moraine Park, Glacier Basin, Aspenglen and Timber Creek require reservations in summer on Recreation.gov (877-444-6777): some sites open up to 6 months ahead and others on short-term release, there are no same-day sales, and sites sell out in advance. Longs Peak is a 26-site, tents-only, first-come campground that typically runs early July to early September and has no water. [NPS][NPS]
RV and trailer limits differ by campground: Moraine Park 40 ft, Glacier Basin 35 ft, Aspenglen 30 ft and Timber Creek 30 ft. Moraine Park is the only one with electric sites — 49 sites with 20/30/50-amp service in Loops B and C — and no park campground has water or sewer hookups. Aspenglen has no dump station or water fill; use Moraine Park or Glacier Basin. [NPS][NPS][NPS]
Summer fees are $35 a night for a standard site and $55 with electric; camping fees are separate from park entrance fees. Stays are limited to 7 nights in park campgrounds from May 1 to October 15, with 8 people and 2 vehicles per site and quiet hours 10 p.m.–6 a.m., generators included. During the 2026 timed entry season (May 22–October 18), a reservation at Moraine Park, Glacier Basin or Aspenglen counts as timed entry for the whole park including Bear Lake Road, and Timber Creek's for everything except the Bear Lake Road corridor, from 1 p.m. on arrival day. [NPS][NPS]
Seasons for 2026: Aspenglen closed September 28 and Timber Creek October 5; Glacier Basin and Longs Peak are closed for the winter. Moraine Park switches to winter first come, first served at 1 p.m. on October 19, 2026 and is the only park campground open in winter. [NPS]
